Basketball Recap: Yeshivat Rambam Starts Season with Victory at Home

Yeshivat Rambam took care of business in their home opener (and then some) on Monday. They were the clear victors by a 58-34 margin over Barrie.

Barrie's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Gunnar Nelson, who almost dropped a double-double with 11 points and nine boards. Nelson has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Rawle Tapper-Howard, who posted ten points and four steals.

Barrie is on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Yeshivat Rambam will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on The Lab School of Washington at 7:30 p.m. on December 9. As for Barrie, they will head out to take on Lycee Rochambeau at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
