Softball Recap: Calvary Christian Academy Takes a Loss

Calvary Christian Academy started off well but failed to capitalize on an early lead against Philadelphia Academy Charter. They took a 9-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Chargers on Thursday. The Cougars have struggled against the Chargers recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.

Leah Zweitzig was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while going 3-for-4. Rebekah Zweitzig was another key player, scoring two runs while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

Calvary Christian Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 1-4-1. As for Philadelphia Academy Charter, their record is now 3-1.

Calvary Christian Academy didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, an 8-4 loss against King's Christian on the 4th. As for Philadelphia Academy Charter, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Arts Academy at Benjamin Rush at 3:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (the Chargers have won seven straight at home dating back to last season, while the KNIGHTS won three straight on the road), something that'll have to change.
