Lexington never let their opponents score on Friday. Everything went their way against the Chester County Eagles as they made off with an 11-0 victory. The Tigers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 15 matches by six runs or more this season.
Carly Williams made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI.
In other batting news, Holly Bartholomew and Kk Simko did most of the damage at the plate: Bartholomew went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI, while Simko went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one triple. That's the most RBI Bartholomew has posted since back in April. Lane Huskey was another key player, going a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.
Lexington always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .520. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Chester County only posted an OBP of .250.
Lexington has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 29-13-2 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.6 runs over those games. As for Chester County, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-10.
Looking ahead, Lexington is taking a road trip to face off against McNairy Central at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Bobcats will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something the Tigers surely won't give up without a fight. Chester County does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
