Basketball Recap: Lisbon Takes a Loss

After flying high against East Marshall last Saturday, Lisbon came back down to earth. The Lisbon Lions were outmatched by the Jesup J-Hawks and fell 62-25. While losing is never fun, the Lions can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Iowa basketball rankings (they are ranked 246th, while the J-Hawks are ranked 83rd).

Lisbon's loss dropped their record down to 11-13. As for Jesup, they pushed their record up to 18-4 with the win, which was their eighth straight at home.

Lisbon does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Jesup will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Hudson on February 21, 2026. Hudson will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something Jesup surely won't give up without a fight.
