Softball Recap: Holdingford Takes a Loss

Holdingford was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They lost 11-5 to the Paynesville Bulldogs. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Huskers of the 19-14 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Holdingford saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ava Hagerty, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI. Another was Annalise Odden, who got on base in two of her four plate appearances with one run and one RBI.

Holdingford's defeat dropped their record down to 4-9. As for Paynesville, the victory snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 9-5 record.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Holdingford beat the Bulldogs by a score of 8-7 later that day.
