It was a good run, but Conifer unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-match winning streak on Monday. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Standley Lake Gators. While the Lobos didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Gators 25-17 in the first set.
Conifer started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The match finished with set scores of 17-25, 28-26, 25-11, 25-17.
Sage Bishop paced Conifer's offense, picking up 13 kills. Bishop got some help from Hayden Buscher and her 23 assists. Keira Tracy controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.
Standley Lake had a senior duo take command as Alivia Lambrecht-Gardner had eight digs and three aces and Maryn Paulson had 14 digs and one assist. Lambrecht-Gardner has been hot recently, having also posted 13 or more assists the last four times she's played.
Conifer's loss dropped their record down to 8-3. As for Standley Lake, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 12-2.
We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Conifer will challenge rival D'Evelyn at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Standley Lake is set to face off against their familiar foe Evergreen at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
