The Purvis Tornadoes will head out to square off against the Wayne County War EaglesLady War Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Purvis took a loss when they played away from home last Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They came out on top against Northeast Jones by a score of 28-21. The Tornadoes haven't had any issues with the Tigers recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Paxton Cooper produced another solid performance rushing for 189 yards and three TDs while picking up 9.9 yards per carry, and also throwing for 200 yards on only ten passes. His longest rush was for an incredible 96 yards. Purvis also got a significant boost from Gabe Franklin, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 85 yards.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Purvis was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 303 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since the start of last season.

Meanwhile, Wayne County's game on Friday was all tied up 14-14 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They managed a 27-21 victory over East Central.

The win was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 2-6. As for Purvis, their record is now 5-3.
