Softball Recap: Klein Forest Eagles vs. Heights Bulldogs
Klein Forest was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 13-11 heartbreaker at the hands of the Heights Bulldogs. Even if the Eagles couldn't come away with the victory, the high-scoring effort was a great turnaround for their hitters, which had struggled int the games prior.
Danyelle Garcia spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and ten unearned) runs on 11 hits and racked up six Ks.
On the hitting side, Ryleigh Culberson and Elecia Johnson did some serious damage despite the final result: Culberson scored five runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4, while Johnson scored a run and stole two bases while going 3-for-4.
