Soccer Game Preview: Elbert County vs. Commerce

The Elbert County Blue Devils will venture away from home to face off against the Commerce Tigers at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Elbert County's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for three straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Elbert County managed to slip by Rabun County the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Blue Devils lost 9-1 to the Wildcats on Friday.

Meanwhile, Commerce kept a clean sheet against Banks County on Friday. They blew past the Leopards 4-0. Considering Commerce have won three matches by more than three goals this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

They hit Banks County with a four-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Jasmine Diaz, Isabellian Morales, Nataly Calderon, and Belle Gary.

Elbert County's loss dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Commerce, the win got them back to even at 3-3.

Elbert County skirted past Commerce 3-2 when the teams last played back in March of 2025. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Blue Devils since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
