Softball Recap: Janesville Parker Takes a Loss

Janesville Parker lost against Verona back in May of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Vikings took a 7-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Wildcats. The Vikings have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Lilly Keller spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and four unearned) runs on eight hits and racked up nine Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Delaney King made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-3. Those stolen bases marked the first that she snagged this season.

Janesville Parker now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Verona, the win got them back to even at 1-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Janesville Parker will square off against Mukwonago at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Verona, they will welcome Vel Phillips Memorial at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
