Baseball Recap: Moapa Valley Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Moapa Valley can now relate to. They took an 8-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Pahrump Valley Trojans on Friday. The Pirates were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Trojans earlier this season, when they won 11-7.

Logan Schouten was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one double. Another player making a difference was Lachlan Stephenson, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double.

Moapa Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 20-12. As for Pahrump Valley, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 23-10-1.

Moapa Valley does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Pahrump Valley, they have already played their next match, a 9-2 loss against Boulder City on the 9th.
