Softball Recap: Alhambra Find Success

Alhambra saw some tournament action on Friday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 6-5 victory over the Crater Comets. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Bulldogs.

Willa Adler was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she pitched five innings while giving up just two earned (and three unearned) runs off eight hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Genevieve Hernandez, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-2. Another player making a difference was Payton Radke, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Alhambra was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .423. The last time their batting average was this high was back in May of 2024.

Alhambra now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Crater, they are on an eight-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-6.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Alhambra will square off against Bethel at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Crater, they will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on North Eugene at 5:00 p.m. on April 8.
