Baseball Recap: Geneseo Comes Up Short

Geneseo lost a heartbreaker to Wayland-Cohocton when they met back in May of 2024, and they left with a heavy heart again on Friday. The Blue Devils came up short against the Eagles, falling 14-3. The Blue Devils haven't had much luck with the Eagles recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Oren Ray made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with two runs and one double. Geneseo is 4-1 when Ray posts two or more runs, but 1-2 otherwise.

Geneseo's defeat dropped their record down to 5-3. As for Wayland-Cohocton, their win bumped their record up to 6-3.

Geneseo didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 7-4 loss against Avon on the 27th. As for Wayland-Cohocton, they have also already played their next game, a 14-7 defeat against Bloomfield on the 27th.
