Football Recap: North Platte Takes a Loss

North Platte entered their contest against Lawson on Friday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Panthers took a 35-22 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Cardinals. The game was a 14-14 toss-up at halftime, but the Panthers couldn't quite close it out.

Despite the loss, North Platte still got an impressive performance from Dylan Armstrong, who rushed for 74 yards and one touchdown, and also threw for 100 yards and one TD.

Grayson Smith produced another solid performance rushing for 185 yards and three scores while picking up 8.8 yards per carry for Lawson. Smith is crushing it when it comes to rushing yards: he's rushed for at least 103 every time he's taken the field this season. Lawson also got help from Brogan Crawford, who showed off his sure hands for 83 receiving yards.

North Platte's defeat dropped their record down to 5-3. As for Lawson, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 6-2.
