Softball Recap: Junction City Triumphs

While Junction City's victory against Marshfield wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Tigers sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 9-8 win over the Pirates on Friday. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 11-1 on Tuesday.

The victory made it two in a row for Junction City and bumps their season record up to 5-6. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games. As for Marshfield, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-5.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Junction City will host Marist at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Spartans will aim to continue their four-game streak of scoring more runs each contest than the last. As for Marshfield, they will square off against Cottage Grove at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The last three games the Lions have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
