Basketball Game Preview: Mira Mesa Marauders vs. Scripps Ranch Falcons

The Mira Mesa Marauders will face off against the Scripps Ranch Falcons at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Mira Mesa knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past six games -- so hopefully Scripps Ranch likes a good challenge.

Last Friday, Mira Mesa took their matchup with ease, bagging an 80-36 win over Canyon Hills. The Marauders have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten contests by 21 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Scripps Ranch was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were outmatched by St. Augustine and fell 80-47. While losing is never fun, the Falcons can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 434th, while the Saints are ranked 164th).

Mira Mesa's victory bumped their record up to 18-3. As for Scripps Ranch, their loss dropped their record down to 8-12.

Mira Mesa took their win against Scripps Ranch in their previous matchup back in December of 2024 by a conclusive 80-59. Will Mira Mesa repeat their success, or does Scripps Ranch have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
