Volleyball Recap: Nordonia Makes It Six in a Row on the Road

Nordonia's game on Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. They came out on top against the Hudson Explorers by a score of 3-1. For the Knights, this counts as revenge for the 3-2 win the Explorers walked away with the last time they faced one another back in October of 2024.

The match came down to the wire multiple times:three sets needed extra rallies to declare a winner. The final score came out to 30-28, 24-26, 25-20, 26-24.

Nordonia got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Aleah Sopata out in front who had 16 digs and two aces. Those 16 digs gave Sopata a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Avery Palinkas, who had 24 assists and nine digs.

Nordonia pushed their record up to 9-1 with the win, which was their sixth straight on the road. As for Hudson, their loss dropped their record down to 8-5.

Coming up, Nordonia will be playing in front of their home fans against Jackson at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Hudson, they will head out on the road to face off against North Royalton at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
