Softball Recap: Thursday's Win Is Stanley's Eighth in Last Ten Outings

While Stanley's victory against Natchitoches Central wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Panthers sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-0 win over the Chiefs on Thursday. That's more bragging rights for the Panthers, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Lexi Greene made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out ten over seven innings pitched. She also put up three hits, which were her first of the season. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. Greene is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: she's snagged at least one every time she's taken the field this season.

Stanley has been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-6 record this season. As for Natchitoches Central, their loss dropped their record down to 12-16.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Stanley will challenge Winnfield at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Natchitoches Central, they will take on Pineville at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
