Volleyball Recap: Spring Valley Takes a Loss

If Spring Valley was feeling good fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Sumter on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Vikings came up short against the Blythewood Bengals on Thursday, falling 3-0. The Vikings have struggled against the Bengals recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

While Spring Valley was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the second set. The final score came out to 25-17, 25-22, 25-13.

Ava Temoney paced Spring Valley's offense, picking up seven kills. Temoney got some help from Isabella Talde and her 12 assists. Finally, Kylan Stone kept Spring Valley's defense grounded, leading the team with three blocks.

Spring Valley suffered their first home loss, dropping their record down to 6-8. As for Blythewood, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 6-3.

Spring Valley wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 2-0 defeat against T.L. Hanna on the 6th. As for Blythewood, they have also already played their next game, a 3-1 loss against Lugoff-Elgin on the 9th.
