After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Standley Lake, D'Evelyn was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Pomona Panthers. For the Jaguars, this counts as revenge for the 3-2 victory the Panthers walked away with the last time they faced one another back in November of 2024.

While D'Evelyn won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the third set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-17, 25-18, 27-25.

Reece Benton paced D'Evelyn's offense, picking up 18 kills. Benton got some help from Annika Diercks and her 40 assists. Benton was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

When it comes to explaining why Pomona lost, don't look at Aleyah Pruitt. Despite the final result, she hit 87.5% for seven kills and 12 digs and four aces.

The win snapped D'Evelyn's losing streak at three matches and leaves them with a 7-13 record. As for Pomona, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-17.
