It's playoff time, and Carl Albert had no trouble coming through when it counted. They breezed past the Duncan Demons to the tune of 45-17 on Friday. The result was nothing new for the Titans, who have now won nine contests by 28 points or more so far this season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Carl Albert to victory, but perhaps none more so than Delijah Matthews, who rushed for 76 yards and two touchdowns, and also threw for 42 yards and one TD. Matthews is on a roll when it comes to rushing touchdowns, as he's now punched in two or more in each of the last seven games he's played. Jacson Webster was another key pass catcher, picking up 78 receiving yards and a pair of scores.
Special teams also deserves some recognition, posting 15 points in total. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Webster, who ran a punt back for a touchdown.
Carl Albert's record is now 11-0. As for Duncan, their loss dropped their record down to 6-5.
Coming up, Carl Albert will face off against McAlester at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Buffaloes will roll in looking for their eighth straight win, something the Titans surely won't give up without a fight. Duncan does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
