Baseball Game Preview: Lincoln Lions vs. Coventry Oakers

The Lincoln Lions will square off against the Coventry Oakers at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Lincoln has now lost eight straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since the 1st.

On Monday, Lincoln didn't have quite enough to beat Cranston East and fell 4-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Lions have suffered against the Thunderbolts since May 24, 2016.

Lincoln got a good showing from Brennan Robert, who tossed four innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits.

At the plate, Lincoln saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lucas Marshall, who went 2-for-3 with one run. Isaac Cabral also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

Meanwhile, Coventry faced Moses Brown in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Monday. The Oakers were the clear victors by a 9-1 margin over the Quakers. The win was some much needed relief for the Oakers as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.

Coventry picked up their first road victory, bumping their record up to 4-7. As for Lincoln, their loss dropped their record down to 1-9.
