Basketball Recap: Southland College Prep Comes Up Short

Southland College Prep lost against Bloom back in November of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. Southland College Prep took a 37-31 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bloom Blazing Trojan. While losing is never fun, Southland College Prep can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 365th, while Bloom is ranked 85th).

Southland College Prep has also been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games, which has put a noticeable dent in their 7-7 record this season. As for Bloom, the win (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 22-8.

The two teams are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. Southland College Prep will venture away from home to face off against Chicago Christian at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Southland College Prep is facing Chicago Christian at the right time seeing as Chicago Christian is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Bloom, they will face off against Andrew at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
