Basketball Recap: IDEA College Prep Comes Up Short

IDEA College Prep was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 18th straight loss dating back to last season. They were beaten by the Progreso Red Ants 63-33.

It was another big night for Mathew Zuniga, who went 9 for 19 on his way to 21 points in addition to seven steals and six assists for Progreso. Zuniga is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last 15 games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Julio Resendez, who dropped a double-double on ten points and ten boards.

IDEA College Prep's defeat dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Progreso, with the victory, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 5-11.

IDEA College Prep will venture away from home to take on South Texas Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on December 19th. As for Progreso, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 65-51 win against IDEA Quest College Prep on the 13th.
