Baseball Recap: Sandusky's Win on Saturday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Sandusky posted their closest victory since April 9th on Saturday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 5-4 win over the Mayville Wildcats. The victory was nothing new for the Wolves as they're now sitting on four straight.

Bryce Kiley was excellent, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Nathan Ball, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.

Sandusky pushed their record up to 9-5 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.5 runs on average over those games. As for Mayville, the defeat snapped their winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 4-3 record.

Coming up, Sandusky will head out to square off against Bad Axe at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Wolves are facing the Hatchets at the right time seeing as the Hatchets are stuck on a seven-game losing streak. As for Mayville, they will be playing at home against Millington at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Cardinals will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each game than the last.
