Mid-Penn - Colonial Top Player Performances of the Week

Congratulations to this week's top players! We're covering the best performances from Friday's football action (using all statistics entered as of the time of writing). Enjoy!

Trinity Gets a Boost from Joy in 40-34 Defeat

Starting off the list is Trinity's Christian Joy, who we judged to be the best player in the league this week. Joy rushed for 214 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 7.6 yards per carry. He really tore up the turf during one magnificent 84-yard run.

Joy and Trinity will head out on the road to take on Middletown at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Shamrocks got just the result they wanted when they last faced the Blue Raiders, probably because Joy had a solid game then too: he picked up 76 receiving yards and a touchdown, and also rushed for 47 yards. Can he match (or beat) that performance?

A Season-Best Performance from JJ Gossard Leads East Pennsboro over James Buchanan

JJ Gossard produced his most outstanding game to date while leading East Pennsboro to the win on Friday. Gossard rushed for 145 yards and three touchdowns on only 11 carries, good enough to set a new career-high in rushing yards in the process. His longest rush was for an impressive 56 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total.

East Pennsboro's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 6-3. Gossard and East Pennsboro will take on Big Spring at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
