Soccer Game Preview: Eastside Early College vs. Burnet

The Eastside Early College Panthers will challenge the Burnet Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Having struggled with three losses in a row, Eastside Early College turned things around against LBJ Austin on Tuesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-3 victory over the Jaguars. Kensy Maldando Herrera was a massive factor in the win as she booted in three goals all by herself.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Burnet). They never let Travis onto the board and left with an 8-0 win on Tuesday. Given the Bulldogs' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 161st, while the Rebels are ranked 328th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Eastside Early College's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-3. As for Burnet, their win bumped their record up to 4-2.
