Softball Recap: Jasper Takes a Loss

Jasper managed to slip by East Newton the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Eagles lost 19-3 to the Patriots on Monday. The Eagles' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Addie Atnip made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with three stolen bases and two runs. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last five games she's played. Another player making a difference was Crystal Smith, who went 1-for-2 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

Jasper's loss dropped their record down to 8-7. As for East Newton, the victory got them back to even at 8-8.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Jasper will host Lakeland at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for East Newton, they will square off against Purdy at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
