Baseball Recap: Kimball Finds Home Field Redemption Against West

There's no place like home for Kimball, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They walked away with a 6-1 victory over the West Wolfpack on Wednesday. This was a revenge game for the Jaguars: when they faced off against the Wolfpack on Tuesday, they had to take a 5-4 defeat.

Jordan Aldape spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on six hits and racked up seven Ks. Kimball is 4-1 when Aldape allows two or fewer earned runs, but 4-14 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Dawson Pelech and Aj Rodriguez did most of the damage at the plate: Pelech went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs and one double, while Rodriguez went 2-for-3 with four RBI. Rodriguez is becoming a predictor of Kimball's success: when he posts at least three RBI the team is 2-1 (and 6-14 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was James Isler, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Kimball's win was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-10 and their overall record up to 8-15. As for West, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost 11 of their last 12 matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-16-1 record this season.

Kimball will have a chance to go back-to-back against West: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
