Basketball Game Preview: Bluffton Bobcats vs. Colleton County Cougars

A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Bluffton Bobcats challenge the Colleton County Cougars at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday... Bluffton knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past 13 games -- so hopefully Colleton County likes a good challenge.

Last Saturday, Bluffton earned a 62-50 win over Whale Branch. Given the Bobcats' advantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 49th, while the Warriors are ranked 217th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Jamari Manning was his usual excellent self, going 9 for 16 on his way to 26 points and four steals. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in points. Harrison Skinner was another key player, putting up five points in addition to nine assists and seven steals.

Meanwhile, Colleton County beat Beaufort 61-53 on Friday.

Bluffton's victory bumped their record up to 14-2. As for Colleton County, their win bumped their record up to 6-8.

Bluffton came up short against Colleton County in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, falling 56-47. Can Bluffton avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
