Softball Game Preview: Mars Fightin' Planets vs. Plum Mustangs

The Mars Fightin' Planets will head out to square off against the Plum Mustangs at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Mars is coming into the matchup on a five-game losing streak.

Mars lost 20-3 to South Fayette on Thursday.

Abby Robinson was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-2 with one home run and three RBI. That home run was her first of the season.

Meanwhile, Plum earned an 8-4 win over West Mifflin on Saturday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Mustangs.

Jaiden Gentile was excellent, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3. Gia Tavella was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-2.

Plum's victory bumped their record up to 7-1. As for Mars, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-5.

Mars might still be hurting after the 21-9 loss they got from Plum in their previous meeting back in May of 2017. Can Mars avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
