Basketball Recap: Oviedo Comes Up Short

Oviedo lost against Victory Christian Academy back in December of 2022 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Oviedo Lions took a 71-67 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Victory Christian Academy Storm. The Lions have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

When it comes to explaining why Oviedo lost, don't look at Cameron Bryant. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 21 points and 12 rebounds. Bryant has been hot for a while, having posted eight or more boards the last 14 times he's played. Carter Oden was another key player, going 6 for 12 on his way to 19 points.

Oviedo's loss dropped their record down to 13-10. As for Victory Christian Academy, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 17-5 record this season.

Oviedo didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 69-53 defeat against Olympia on the 28th. As for Victory Christian Academy, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 67-63 victory against Lakeland on the 27th.
