Soccer Game Preview: Newtown vs. Forest Hills

The Newtown Pioneers will square off against the Forest Hills Rangers at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Neither team made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Newtown took a four-goal loss the last time they faced off against Francis Lewis, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Pioneers never let the Patriots get on the board and left with a 1-0 win on Thursday. The result kept Newtown happy, as they haven't lost a game since September 13th.

Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, Forest Hills' good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They lost 4-1 to John Adams.

Newtown's victory bumped their record up to 6-1-1. As for Forest Hills, they now have a losing record of 4-5.

Newtown took their win against Forest Hills in their previous meeting back in September of 2024 by a conclusive 3-0 score. Do the Pioneers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Rangers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
