Softball Recap: St. Francis Comes Up Short

St. Francis was the 4-2 winner over Ponderosa when they last played one another back in March of 2020, but their luck changed this time around. The St. Francis Troubadours lost 15-4 to the Ponderosa Bruins on Monday.

St. Francis saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Marissa Jensen, who scored a run while going 2-for-3. Claire Krotine was another, scoring a run while going 3-for-4.

Even though they lost, St. Francis hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most four strikeouts in five consecutive games dating back to last season.

St. Francis' loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Ponderosa, the win got them back to even at 1-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. St. Francis will challenge Elk Grove at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Ponderosa, they will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on Union Mine at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday.
