Baseball Game Preview: Jamestown vs. New Franklin Bulldogs

Jamestown will take on the New Franklin Bulldogs at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.

Jamestown is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 19 runs on Friday, they were much more limited against St. Elizabeth on Monday. They lost 11-1 to the Hornets. Jamestown has struggled against St. Elizabeth recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost meeting.

Jamestown saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brayden Schoenthal, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one RBI.

Meanwhile, New Franklin was able to grind out a solid victory over Fayette on Monday, taking the game 8-3. The win continues a trend for the Bulldogs in their matchups with the Falcons: they've now won five in a row.

New Franklin pushed their record up to 2-0 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.8 runs over those games. As for Jamestown, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.
