Softball Recap: Sheldon Picks Up Sixth Consecutive Win

Sheldon waltzed into their match on Friday with five straight wins... but they left with six. They were the clear victors by a 16-2 margin over the Cosumnes Oaks Wolfpack. The result was nothing new for the Huskies, who have now won six contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Micah Kennedy made a big impact no matter where she played. She struck out seven batters over six innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off seven hits. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than one earned run in seven consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-5 with four RBI and two doubles. That's the most doubles she has posted since back in February.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Natalia Aguilar, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 4-for-4. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in doubles (three). Another player making a difference was Sinitalela Heleta, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.

Sheldon always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .590. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Sheldon's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-3. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Cosumnes Oaks, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-4.

Sheldon has already played their next game, a 3-3 tie against Archbishop Mitty on the 10th. As for Cosumnes Oaks, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 6-5 win against Monterey Trail on the 9th.
