The MacArthur Brahmas will square off against the Southside Cardinals at 12:30 p.m. on Friday. MacArthur will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak.
On Wednesday, MacArthur needed a bit of extra time to put away Jay. They put the hurt on the Mustangs with a sharp 14-7 win. Considering the Brahmas have won seven contests by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Korey Alston was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, six RBI, and two triples. Those four hits gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Preston Longhurst, who went 2-for-5 with one home run and two runs.
They weren't the only ones working in the home run department: MacArthur lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Southside hadn't done well against South San Antonio recently (they were 0-4 in their previous four matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Cardinals walked away with an 8-5 victory over the Bobcats. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Cardinals.
The team relied heavily on Luke Martinez, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one triple. He has become a key player for Southside: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two stolen bases, but 9-12 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Joseth Aguirre, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.
MacArthur's win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 15-6. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.2 runs over those games. As for Southside, the win got them back to even at 12-12.
Everything went MacArthur's way against Southside when the teams last played back in March, as MacArthur made off with a 16-2 victory. Do the Brahmas have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Cardinals turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
