The Hilltop Cadets are taking a road trip to challenge the Antwerp Archers at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Hilltop is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.5 runs per game this season.

Hilltop fell victim to Montpelier and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They took a 4-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Locomotives. The contest marked the first time this year in which the Cadets were not able to get on the board.

Meanwhile, Antwerp fought the good fight in their extra-innings match against Hicksville on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Aces by a score of 9-8. The Archers just can't catch a break and have now endured six losses in a row.

With the defeat, Hilltop broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 6-5. As for Antwerp, their loss dropped their record down to 2-9.

Everything went Hilltop's way against Antwerp when the teams last played back in April of 2024, as Hilltop made off with a 14-2 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Cadets since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
