Baseball Recap: Sedro-Woolley Comes Up Short

Sedro-Woolley extended their losing streak to five on Friday, dropping their season record down to 7-13 in the process. They fell 5-0 to the Sehome Mariners. Cubs fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against the Mariners since on Friday.

As for Sehome, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 11-9 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.3 runs over those games.

For Sehome's part, Hudson Neff made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over seven innings pitched. Neff also tossed no walks, which is notable because Sehome is 5-2 when he allows at most two walks, but 6-7 otherwise. Neff was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Gunnar Anderson, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. Riley Carlson was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
