Softball Recap: Firebaugh Has No Trouble Against Hoover

Firebaugh's game last Saturday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Monday. They put the hurt on the Hoover Tornados with a sharp 20-10 victory. The Falcons might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matchups by ten runs or more this season.

Camila Curumaco was incredible, firing off two home runs, six RBI, and four runs while going 4-for-5. She is on a roll when it comes to hits, as she's now got three or more in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Giselle Maravilla, who scored three runs and stole two bases while going 4-for-5.

Firebaugh was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .472. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Hoover only posted a batting average of .292.

The win got Firebaugh back to even at 8-8. As for Hoover, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-5 record this season.

Firebaugh will welcome Lynwood at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The Knights have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 12.57 runs per game on average), something the Falcons will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Hoover, they will head out to take on Immaculate Heart at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday.
