Basketball Game Preview: Marquette University Hilltoppers vs. Wisconsin Lutheran Vikings

The Marquette University Hilltoppers and the Wisconsin Lutheran Vikings will round out the year against one another at at 6:15 p.m. on Thursday. Marquette University knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past five matchups -- so hopefully Wisconsin Lutheran likes a good challenge.

Last Friday, Marquette University was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 65-61 to Germantown.

Meanwhile, Wisconsin Lutheran put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. They walked away with a 72-59 win over De Pere.

Wisconsin Lutheran pushed their record up to 6-0 with the victory, which was their 16th straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 83.6 points per game. As for Marquette University, their loss dropped their record down to 1-4.

Marquette University ended up a good deal behind Wisconsin Lutheran when the teams last played back in December of 2019, losing 96-77. Can Marquette University avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
