Waubonsie Valley hadn't done well against Metea Valley recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Warriors skirted past the Mustangs 2-1. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Warriors as it put an end to their eight-game losing streak.

Molly Quinn spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on five hits and racked up seven Ks.

At the plate, Waubonsie Valley saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Dezirae Kelly, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI. That's the most hits Kelly has posted since back in March.

Waubonsie Valley's victory bumped their record up to 5-10. As for Metea Valley, their loss dropped their record down to 5-11.

Looking ahead, Waubonsie Valley will square off against Bartlett at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Metea Valley, they will challenge Neuqua Valley at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
