Volleyball Recap: Challenger Has No Trouble Against Lake Lure Classical Academy

Challenger won the last time they faced Lake Lure Classical Academy and things went their way on Thursday too. The Firebirds blew past the Raptors 3-0.

One reason for the win was Challenger's just kept getting better, winning each set by more points than the last. The match finished with set scores of 25-19, 25-15, 25-8.

Challenger found their leader in sophomore Addison Jones, who had six digs and three aces.

Challenger was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 16 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least 11 aces every time they've taken the court this season.

Challenger now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Lake Lure Classical Academy, they are on a six-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Challenger will challenge Christian Family Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. After both having extra time off, Lake Lure Classical Academy and Pinnacle Classical Academy will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
