Recap: Wilson Central Wildcats vs. Buckeye Valley Barons
It was a good run, but the Wilson Central Wildcats unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Thursday. They suffered a tough 61-39 loss at the hands of Buckeye Valley. Wilson Central found out winning isn't easy when you don't work as a unit and rack up 17 fewer assists than your opponent.
Several Wildcats players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jadyn Cooper, who scored 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kylie Moss, who scored nine points.
Buckeye Valley's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Emily Huston, who went 6 for 12 from beyond the arc en route to 22 points and 1 assists. Those 22 points set a new season-high mark for her. Ella Hazelrigg was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 11 points and 12 rebounds.
Wilson Central's loss dropped their record down to 8-4. As for Buckeye Valley, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 7-0.
Wilson Central won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Tournament Opponent at 8:30 a.m. on December 22nd. Buckeye Valley and Greensburg Salem will face off at 8:30 a.m. on December 22nd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Greensburg Salem is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
