Baseball Preview: Richton Rebels vs. Quitman Panthers
The Richton Rebels will take on the Quitman Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Richton is looking for their season's first win.
Last Tuesday, Richton came up short against Lumberton and fell 4-1.
Tuck Fulmer made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole two bases while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. That run marked the first that he's scored this season. Another player making a difference was Remmington Graham, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and one RBI.
Meanwhile, everything went Quitman's way against Choctaw Central on Tuesday as Quitman made off with a 10-4 victory. The win continues a trend for the Panthers in their matchups with the Warriors: they've now won four in a row.
Holden Turner was a standout: he scored a run and stole two bases while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of Daniel Peters, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, one triple, and one run.
Quitman always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .559. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Choctaw Central only posted an OBP of .323.
