Briggs won the last time they faced Marion-Franklin and things went their way on Friday too. The Bruins put the hurt on the Red Devils with a sharp 9-1 victory. The result was nothing new for the Bruins, who have now won three matchups by eight runs or more so far this season.

Brailyn Hernandez was a major factor no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over five innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing two bases.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jaxon Mitskevich, who scored two runs and stole four bases while going 2-for-3. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was Cameron Griffith, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.

The win made it two in a row for Briggs and bumps their season record up to 4-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games. As for Marion-Franklin, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-3.

Coming up, Briggs will be playing in front of their home fans against Columbus International at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Lions have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 14.63 runs per game on average), something the Bruins will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Marion-Franklin, they will face off against Independence at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
