Volleyball Game Preview: Pueblo South Colts vs. D'Evelyn Jaguars

The Pueblo South Colts will square off against the D'Evelyn Jaguars at 1:30 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are coming into the matchup red-hot, with Pueblo South sitting on seven straight wins and D'Evelyn on eight.

Pueblo South is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. They came out on top against Denver Waldorf by a score of 3-1.

The match finished with set scores of 25-13, 20-25, 25-17, 25-10.

Pueblo South's success was spearheaded by the efforts of David Standiford, who had 12 digs, and Brady Dunlap, who had 12 digs, seven kills, and six aces. Dunlap is on a roll when it comes to kills, as he's now had six or more in each of the last eight games he's played.

Meanwhile, D'Evelyn faced Stargate School in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Jaguars were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Eagles.

The victory didn't come easy: Stargate School scored at least 18 points in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 25-20, 25-18.

Pueblo South's win bumped their record up to 21-5. As for D'Evelyn, they pushed their record up to 23-3 with the victory, which was their 19th straight at home dating back to last season.
