It was a good run, but Waunakee unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Saturday. They fell just short of the Onalaska Hilltoppers by a score of 72-69. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Warriors came into the matchup with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin basketball rankings (they are ranked 11th, while the Hilltoppers are ranked 88th).

Waunakee's defeat ended a nine-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 7-2. As for Onalaska, the victory made it two in a row for them and also bumps their season record up to 7-2.

Waunakee will venture away from home to take on Beaver Dam at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Onalaska, they will face off against Luther at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday.
