It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Northeast ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They walked away with a 5-2 victory over the Countryside Cougars. The win continues a trend for the Vikings in their matchups with the Cougars: they've now won seven in a row.

Northeast saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Noah Rodriquez, who scored a run while going 2-for-4. What's more, Rodriquez posted two hits, the most he's had since back in April of 2024.

Northeast's victory bumped their record up to 3-4. As for Countryside, their loss dropped their record down to 4-3.

Coming up, Northeast will be playing in front of their home fans against IMG Academy Gold at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Countryside, they are taking a road trip to take on Palm Harbor University at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
