Basketball Game Preview: Our Lady of Lourdes Warriors vs. Catholic Central Crusaders

The Our Lady of Lourdes Warriors will square off against the Catholic Central Crusaders at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Our Lady of Lourdes is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering New Paltz just ended the team's six-game winning streak on Wednesday. They fell 78-67 to the Huguenots. The loss put an end to the Warriors' undefeated start to the season.

Meanwhile, Catholic Central was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Thursday as they fell 79-74 to Schenectady. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Friday (62), the Crusaders still had to take the loss.

Catholic Central has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-5 record this season. As for Our Lady of Lourdes, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 6-1.

Our Lady of Lourdes took a serious blow against Catholic Central when the teams last played back in January of 2024, falling 85-50. That contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point Our Lady of Lourdes was down 41-19.
